The much-awaited Khairatabad Ganesh Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad began on Saturday morning at 8 am. Devotees gathered in large numbers at the famous Khairatabad Ganesh Pandal, where the atmosphere was filled with chants of “Ganapathi Bappa Morya.” Before the procession started, a special pooja was performed to Sri Vishwa Shanthi Maha Shakthi Ganapati by the Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Committee.
The grand Shobha Yatra made its way through prominent city routes including Telephone Bhavan, the Telugu Thalli Flyover, and the Secretariat, on its journey towards NTR Garden for immersion. The sight of the decorated idol being carried in procession drew thousands of onlookers who were eager to catch a glimpse of the beloved deity.
Hundreds of devotees paid their respects by showering flowers on the idol as it passed by. The festive atmosphere was vibrant, with people singing, chanting, and celebrating the farewell of Lord Ganesha with devotion and joy. The event once again highlighted Hyderabad’s unique blend of faith and community spirit.
To ensure smooth proceedings, the city police made strict security arrangements along the procession route. Barricades and traffic diversions were put in place to manage the large crowds. The immersion of the Khairatabad Ganesh idol is expected to take place by 12 noon at NTR Garden.
