Commissioner CV Anand issues externment orders against rowdy sheeter Mohd Asad involved in 11 criminal cases.
A 27-year-old rowdy sheeter from Kalapathar police station limits has been externed from Hyderabad for one year for his repeated involvement in unlawful activities that disturbed peace and order in the locality.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand issued the externment orders against the accused, Mohd Asad alias Asad, on September 13 under Section 26(1) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli.
According to officials, Asad has a lengthy history of 11 criminal cases, including charges of assault, murder, attempted murder, criminal intimidation, rioting, extortion, and illegal possession of weapons. Police noted that his criminal background and violent acts had created an atmosphere of fear and panic among the public.
Authorities also revealed that due to his persistent threats, citizens were too afraid to lodge complaints or provide evidence against him. This lack of cooperation made it harder for the police to effectively curb his unlawful activities.
One of the most serious incidents linked to Asad was the murder of a rival gang member in June 2024. More recently, he was caught near a hotel in possession of a gun, live rounds, and knives. Police said Asad and his associates were preparing to launch an attack on another rival gang at the time of his arrest.
Commissioner CV Anand shared details of the case on social media platform X, highlighting how Asad’s violent activities posed a continued threat to peace in Hyderabad. The externment order, according to him, was necessary to restore public confidence and safety.
In a related development, CV Anand also conducted an Executive Court session on Saturday, September 20. During the session, he reviewed 11 rowdy gang cases and directed peace bonds to be executed among eight individuals, underscoring the police’s firm stance on tackling organised crime and maintaining law and order.
