Jayesh Ranjan highlights how technology can double farmers’ income at Earth Summit 2025, Hyderabad.
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary (Chief Minister’s Office, SPEED, Investment & Industry Cell), Government of Telangana, said that technology has the potential to double farmers’ income—especially for those cultivating rice, maize and cotton.
Speaking at the Earth Summit 2025–26, Ranjan said the State has identified over 80 agriculture technologies that can support farmers at different stages of crop production. These technologies are currently being tested on the fields of agricultural universities.
Ranjan was in conversation with Dr. Subho Ray, President of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), during a session titled “Strategic Innovation Corridors: Building High-Impact Digital and Industrial Growth Pathways for Rural India.”
“Telangana has shown how government can support startups”
Highlighting the State’s strong innovation ecosystem, Ranjan said Hyderabad hosts more than two dozen innovation centres that actively promote AgriTech.
“We have invested hundreds of crores in building institutions and bringing in the best talent. NABARD has also been a major supporter of our startup initiatives,” he said.
Telangana Rising Vision 2047 to launch on December 9
Ranjan also spoke about his flagship project, Telangana Rising Vision 2047—a comprehensive 120-page roadmap outlining initiatives for farmers, women and youth. The document will be released on December 9, marking two years of the current government.
When asked about attracting private investment, Ranjan said the Vision 2047 document would play a key role in drawing long-term capital to the State.
