CM Revanth Reddy declared a ₹819 crore Dasara bonus for SCCL workers, benefitting 41,000 employees and 30,000 contract staff.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday, September 22, announced a Dasara bonus of ₹819 crore for the workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Nearly 41,000 SCCL employees will each receive a bonus of ₹1,95,610, while about 30,000 contract workers will be given ₹5,500 each, the CM announced.
Sharing details of the company’s financial performance, Revanth Reddy said SCCL generated ₹6,394 crore in revenue this financial year. After allocating ₹4,034 crore for expansion and other expenditures, the company recorded a net profit of ₹2,360 crore. The Dasara bonus, he noted, represents 34% of total profits.
The CM added that Singareni workers had requested him to reclaim coal blocks allocated to private companies, assuring that the state government will take up the issue with the Centre. He also expressed concern over the ₹7,000 crore GST revenue loss Telangana is facing due to new reforms and demanded compensation for the next five years.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka said SCCL had been kept out of coal block auctions in the past, causing the company to lose two blocks to firms close to the previous government. He assured measures to ensure SCCL’s participation in upcoming key mineral block auctions.
Revanth Reddy further stated that the Coal India Limited bonus will be announced on Diwali.
