Hyderabad police intensified patrolling, hotel checks, and vehicle inspections after a high-intensity blast at Delhi’s Red Fort prompted a nationwide alert.
Hyderabad, November 10 — Hyderabad police have stepped up security across the city following a powerful blast near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort on Monday evening that killed at least nine people and left several vehicles in flames.
The explosion, described as high-intensity, shattered windowpanes of nearby buildings and vehicles parked several metres away. The cause of the blast is yet to be determined. A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reached the site, and a high alert has been issued in the national capital.
Hyderabad Police Tighten Vigil
In response, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar announced heightened surveillance and movement monitoring.
Police teams have intensified:
- Patrolling in busy commercial areas
- Checks at hotels, lodges, and guesthouses to identify suspicious individuals
- Vehicle inspections at multiple checkpoints
- Deployment of additional personnel in public spaces
Citizens have been urged to report any suspicious activity to the control room by calling 100.
Alert Already in Place Due to Jubilee Hills Bypoll
The Hyderabad police were already on alert due to the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election scheduled for Tuesday, and the blast in Delhi has prompted further tightening of security measures.
Senior officials have directed all Station House Officers (SHOs) to brief personnel, maintain heightened vigilance, and ensure rapid response preparedness.
