The Modi government is providing significant relief to the public this festive season with the fifth consecutive monthly reduction in the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder. In Delhi, the price has been cut from Rs 1,631.50 to Rs 1,580, effective immediately. This downward trend is consistent across other major cities, with Kolkata pricing the cylinder at Rs 1,684, Mumbai at Rs 1,531.50, and Chennai at Rs 1,738.
This financial year has seen no increase in the price of commercial LPG cylinders. Since March, the price in Delhi has dropped from Rs 1,803 to Rs 1,580 over a span of five months, amounting to a total reduction of Rs 223. Prices were sequentially reduced each month, highlighting the government’s efforts to ease fuel costs for businesses and commercial users.
However, the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder has remained unchanged since the last revision on April 8. For household consumers, the cylinder continues to be available at Rs 853 in Delhi, Rs 879 in Kolkata, Rs 852.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 868.50 in Chennai, providing price stability for domestic users amid fluctuating commercial rates.
In contrast, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have recently been revised, reflecting separate market dynamics. The steady price cuts in commercial LPG highlight the government’s initiative to support industries and businesses with reduced fuel expenses during the festive period.
