Hyderabad Police arrest the uncle and aunt of 7-year-old Samia for her brutal murder in Yaqutpura. The couple allegedly drowned the child over black magic suspicion and a family property dispute.
In a shocking incident from Hyderabad’s Old City, police have arrested a man and his wife for allegedly murdering their seven-year-old niece, Samia, in Yaqutpura’s Chhaoni Nad Ali Baig area. The case has sent shockwaves across the community after the child’s body was discovered inside a water tank at her grandmother’s house.
According to police, Samia was reported missing on September 30, triggering a frantic search by her family and neighbours. A day later, her body was found submerged in the water tank, prompting an immediate investigation by the Rein Bazaar police.
Couple Suspected Child’s Parents of Black Magic and Property Dispute
During the investigation, police uncovered a disturbing motive behind the crime. The accused, identified as Sameer (uncle) and Yasmeen (aunt), allegedly killed the child over a mix of superstition and property disputes.
According to officials, the couple’s own daughter had died in November last year. Believing that Samia’s parents were responsible for their child’s death through black magic, the couple decided to take revenge.
On the day of the crime, when no one else was at home, they allegedly lured Samia away under the pretext of playing, tied her hands, and drowned her in the water tank. The police said the couple admitted to the killing during interrogation and have been taken into custody for further investigation.
