Telangana CEO Directs Officials to Clear Pending SIR Cases and Expedite Voter Revision Process

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy has directed election officials to speed up the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls and clear pending applications and hearing cases within the prescribed timelines.

The instructions were issued during a review of the revision process with district election officials and other election authorities.

The CEO asked officials to meet their daily targets, ensure the timely processing of pending cases and guide voters properly throughout the exercise. He also stressed the importance of transparency and adherence to due process while handling electoral applications, notices and hearings.

Officials were instructed to focus on pending cases, including those related to voter-list verification and electoral forms.

The directions come as Telangana continues its voter-roll revision process. The Election Commission has extended the deadline for filing claims and objections to October 7, 2026, while the disposal of claims and objections is scheduled to continue until November 5. The final electoral roll is expected to be published on November 9, 2026, under the revised schedule.
