Rajinikanth’s movies always bring excitement for his fans, and ‘Coolie’ is no different. Since its release on August 14, the film has turned theatres into places of celebration. Even with strong competition from the big Bollywood movie ‘War 2’, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, ‘Coolie’ continued to lead from day one and has become the main attraction at the box office.
Trade reports show ‘Coolie’ is doing really well, moving quickly towards the Rs. 200 crore milestone in just four days. On the fourth day, which was Sunday, the movie earned Rs. 34 crore across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada markets in India. Although this was about 13 percent less than Saturday’s Rs. 39 crore, the total reached Rs. 193.25 crore after a successful four-day run in theatres.
Looking at its performance so far, ‘Coolie’ is expected to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark by the end of its fifth day, which is Monday. This shows that the movie continues to draw crowds and is on track to be a massive success.
When we look at the language-wise collections, most of the earnings came from the Tamil language version, followed by good numbers in Telugu. Hindi was next, and finally Kannada, showing that Rajinikanth’s popularity spreads across many regions in India.
