SBI Credit Cards Stop Reward Points on Digital Gaming and Government Transactions from September 2025

SBI announces changes to reward points eligibility and updates to Card Protection Plan affecting select credit cards
Several important changes have come into effect for holders of specific SBI credit cards, including the Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Card, Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Select Card, and Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Prime Card. These updates directly impact the benefits and reward points structure for cardholders.
Under the new rules, SBI credit cards will no longer offer reward points on payments made on online gaming platforms, government-related transactions, and selected merchant categories. This means transactions in these areas will no longer earn the rewards that customers may have previously enjoyed.
Additionally, SBI has updated its Card Protection Plan (CPP). Cardholders who opted for the CPP will be automatically shifted to the revised plan variant. Customers will receive SMS or email notifications about this update 24 hours before their plan’s renewal date to ensure they are informed of the changes.
