BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla praised India’s unbeaten run in the Asia Cup 2025 and expressed confidence ahead of the final against Pakistan.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has lauded the Indian cricket team’s unbeaten run in the ongoing T20 Asia Cup 2025, expressing confidence that India will lift the trophy in Dubai.
India will face arch-rivals Pakistan in the tournament final at the Dubai International Stadium on September 28. Remarkably, this will be the first-ever Asia Cup final between the two cricketing giants in the tournament’s 41-year history.
“Our team has performed brilliantly in the Asia Cup 2025. The team has a good combination. I am very confident that we will be the Asia Cup Champions and lift the Cup. Best wishes to Team India,” Shukla told ANI.
India has dominated the tournament so far, including two wins over Pakistan. In the group-stage clash, India cruised to a seven-wicket victory, with spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismantling Pakistan’s batting order with figures of 3/18.
The Super 4s match saw opener Abhishek Sharma steal the show with a blistering knock of 74 off 39 balls, guiding India to a six-wicket win. His aggressive batting has made him India’s top performer with the bat.
Abhishek continued his form against Sri Lanka in the final Super Four fixture, smashing 61 runs off just 31 balls with eight fours and two sixes at a strike rate of nearly 197. This was his third consecutive half-century in the tournament.
On the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav has been India’s biggest weapon. His variations have troubled batsmen throughout the competition, making him the leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets in six matches at an economy rate of 6.05.
The Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2025 final includes: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson, Harshit Rana, and Rinku Singh.
