Hindu Sena Demands Revocation of Hamid Ansari’s Padma Shri Over Recent Remarks

The Hindu Sena has demanded that the Central government revoke the Padma Shri awarded to former Vice President Hamid Ansari, following his recent remarks on Hindu nationalism that sparked a political controversy. The organisation submitted a memorandum to the President of India, alleging that Ansari’s comments were against the spirit of the country’s constitutional values and national unity.

According to Hindu Sena, Hamid Ansari’s statements had hurt the sentiments of many people and were not in line with the responsibilities expected from a former constitutional office-holder. The organisation urged the government to review the continuation of the civilian honour conferred upon him. The demand comes amid an ongoing political debate over Ansari’s remarks, which have drawn criticism from several political leaders while also generating public discussion.
